About Civitas Strategies Early Start

The pandemic highlighted vulnerabilities that exist in the child care sector and brought to light the very thin margins that child care businesses often operate within.

These vulnerabilities were crippling for the majority of child care programs, while in reality, child care providers are the essential backbone for a community’s workforce and economy. Civitas Strategies Early Start (CSES) was founded in 2021 in response to this reality to provide essential support for families and our youngest learners and focus on early childhood and early learning environments for children. CSES has deep roots in early learning, emerging from Civitas Strategies, a 12-year-old management consultancy with extensive early learning experience.

In our work, we combine extensive expertise in business management with a deep familiarity of child care and early learning operations. That intersection allows us to approach this work with two main foci. First, we have the necessary experience, data, and knowledge to support child care businesses to increase revenues and decrease costs, stabilizing the industry in your community. Second, we know how to use those tools to create and implement goal-based strategies to give childcare providers the support they need, when they need it.
